Hewlett-Packard (HP) is a technology company with a rich history dating back to 1939. Founded by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard, the company began as a small garage operation in Palo Alto, California. Its first product was an audio oscillator, which was used by Walt Disney Studios in the production of the film Fantasia.

In the following decades, HP continued to innovate and expand its product line, including the development of the first desktop computer, the HP-85, in 1980. The company also entered the printer market and became a major player in the industry with the release of its LaserJet printer in 1984.

In the 1990s and 2000s, HP continued to grow through acquisitions, including the acquisition of Compaq in 2002. The company also entered the personal computing market with the launch of its HP Pavilion line of computers.
